My father-in-law was murdered in his home while he was confined to his sofa. He had Parkinson’s disease and could not move on his own.
My mother-in-law left for her morning walk around the kibbutz at 6:30 A.M, and we haven’t heard from her since.
Yael, who is mentally disabled, was alone when the explosions began. She understood that something bad was happening and went to the bomb shelter on her own, where she called her brothers and aunt begging them to come save her, telling them that the house was set on fire and that she was afraid of being burned alive. There was no one there to help.
Once she stopped hearing the terrorists outside, she escaped from her burning house and called for help. Miraculously, a nearby IDF squad heard her screams and saved her.
